At Janis Commerce, we continue to drive logistics innovation across Latin America—and we’re proud to announce our latest project with Unimarc, part of Grupo SMU, which integrates our Distributed Order Management (DOM) technology into the first robotized micro-fulfillment center of its kind in Chile, setting a new standard for commerce in the region.
A Cutting-Edge Fulfillment Center
Unimarc’s micro-fulfillment center is based on a highly automated operational model, designed to meet the growing demands of modern commerce. At the heart of this solution is “Goods-to-Person” technology: instead of pickers walking through aisles, products are brought directly to them—eliminating unnecessary movement and maximizing efficiency. This model handles up to five times more demand than traditional systems, optimizing order assembly time and expanding product variety for customers. The result is a faster, more precise, and scalable operation—fully prepared for the demands of today’s retail landscape.
The role of Janis Commerce's DOM: The brain behind fulfillment
In this project, our Distributed Order Management (DOM) system plays a central role. As the orchestration engine behind the entire process, Janis DOM powers:
- Optimized picking and packing strategies
- Efficient product flow coordination
- Accurate, organized order dispatch
Thanks to this advanced technology, we’ve significantly reduced processing times, improved order accuracy, and increased the center’s capacity to handle high daily volumes.
This project marks a major leap in logistics and retail technology—and also redefines the shopping experience for Chilean consumers. By combining automation with advanced fulfillment strategies, Unimarc and Janis Commerce are setting new benchmarks for fast, reliable, and high-quality service.
We’re excited about what’s ahead with Unimarc and Grupo SMU, and this partnership reinforces our commitment to developing smart solutions that power the future of commerce in Latin America.
